painting

I haven't been in a mood to study today so I've been painting with chinese inkt all morning. My mom framed one of my earlier works last week to hang up in the living room, I thought it was so sweet of her! It's not particularly good but I do like to spend my time with it.

And I booked a trip to London with my boyfriend! I'll be going three days at the start of April and I'm excited to finally see some things I haven't had the time for in my last visits like the Hampton Court Palace and Tate Britain. And I'm especially very excited to sin against my diet at my favorite burgerplace Ed's Easy Diner, which interior is styled after a 50s American diner. I won't get too pleased with myself just yet since I still have exams in front of me in two weeks, so I better get my books out again for the rest of the afternoon.

outfit of the day

A few quick photobooth snaps of todays outfit as I'm at my boyfriends place! I've quit smoking since saturday and I don't think he can really appreciate my mood right now haha, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do to be healthy, right?

I also tried out a sample of the new Estée Lauder idealist even skintone illuminator and it's amazing! It makes your skin light up and feel soft and silky. I wanted to buy it but I looked up the price and apparently it's 60 euros for a bottle... I better look for a replacement product with a lower price...

old pictures

My grandma is currently being treated for cancer, but it seems like she won't even make it through to the end of the month, and my grandfathers alzheimer has worsened.

I found these awesome pictures of them in better times. My grandmother was a beautiful woman, and my grandfather was in a band. They met while he was performing in a café.

The last couple of weeks my grandfather has loved showing me his old pictures, and today we listened to Yann Tiersen all morning, which he enjoyed because of the accordeon (in the Amélie soundtrack), which he used to play.

thrifting

Here's my promised post about my thrift store shopping spree! Minus the shoes, they're new. I didn't put most of it on pictures, but you'll see it pass by later on the blog.

Chelsea boots, 4.95 at the New Yorker sale

Vintage brown suede back-pack.

Aztec print scarf.

This mint-green jumper was the softest material ever and I had been looking for a nice one in this colour for a while now, so I got lucky!

Found these pussybow blouses in pretty soft pink and off white! The bow on the pink one is removable.

weddings

I had some posts ready for this week but unfortunately when I went to my boyfriend I forgot the cardreader for my camera and I have been unable to upload my pictures.

But on friday I'm home again and I got lots to show you. The weekend has been busy since I was a bridesmaid at a wedding, and today I went to Maastricht with my boyfriend. I went to the thrift store yesterday and spent way too much money and my best friends' grandma gave me a bunch of old clothes. Needless to say, my closet is going to be dramatically full.

The entrée at the wedding was very delicious, but I wasn't a big fan of the rest of the menu... They had foie grass (which I had to force-feed myself) and a lactose-free menu was requested because I'm allergic, but they gave me ice-cream as dessert and almost every dish had cream in it. Maybe they didn't know what lactose-intolerance was?

tetris

So you probably haven't been wondering what I have been doing the last couple of days but I've been really busy with school, work and um... guilty as charged, my new Nintendo DS game in between.

flea market sunday

At the beginning of the new year I vowed myself to make less purchases this year, but I failed again. I went to some flea markets today and I found some lovely things, but I try to make it better for myself by telling myself I didn't spend that much! In total everything was only 15 euros, minus the candy but that doesn't count... (my other vow was to go on a diet, that isn't working out great either apparently)

Well, tomorrow I'll put a lock on my wallet!

The rose garland was only 5 euros, which I'm happy with because the lampoons on my bed broke and I was looking for one to replace it. I saw some at Urban Outfitters but they were 20 (!) euros. The cushion was only 2,90 and I saw a similar one at H&M home for 15, so I thought these were great bargains. For all you Belgians: I got them at the Zwarte Markt at Tessenderlo.

I'm a serious candy addict. And at the American Foodstore in Wilrijk you can find some great kinds. You need to watch out though, because everything is pretty overpriced...

My mom got this shopping bag for me at the local supermarket, you get it for free if you purchase some Campbells. I'm studying at a different city next year and I'm moving out so I could definitely use it + it looks awesome!

home

Just a warning beforehand: my room is probably one of the girliest you will ever encounter.

sales

I'm sorry for the lack of posts this week, but I've been extremely busy with school! I did have some time to spare last tuesday and I went for a quick look in the city hoping I would find some low priced sale items left. I only found some cable knit tights at the beginning of sale so I was happy to find a few more things this time!

I fell in love with this shaping bodysuit at Hunkemöller. It was marked from 65 euros to 20 euros and it was the last one in my size so I couldn't leave it behind. It goes great underneath a slightly tighter dress and it's very warm and comfortable too!

H&M, 5 euros
